Child Therapy

Children deserve to be seen and heard.  It’ s hard work figuring out how to grow up and sometimes even harder to hold yourself together in the face of outside stressors .  All behavior, even the most oppositional at times, is pursuing connection.  The task is to uncover the underlying emotions so that a felt sense of safety can be restored and connection can prosper.

James Hillman’s acorn theory posits that each of us carries an individual image that belongs to our soul alone.  Discovering and nurturing this image in childhood is essential.  Therapy can provide the setting that allows us to answer the question: “Who is this child that happens to be mine?”
